The history of holsters provides an interesting parallel to the development of handguns in the real
world that has filtered down to the airsoft community. In fact, a skirmish field is possibly the one
place that you will see a variety of holsters from different eras at the same time in use.
A classic example of this is the 1911, its shape has stayed pretty much the same, but what has
significantly changed over time is the way the pistol is holstered.
The Emerson Gear pistol holster is a locking retention holster and takes its inspiration from the
real world but delivers a Polymer holster into our world. It can be worn on your hip via the included
paddle or belt loop adapter offering you a whole heap of mounting configurations. A locking button
located on the side of the holster grips your pistol securely until you depress the locking retention,
which in turn frees the pistol allowing you to smoothly and effortless draw your pistol.
The release is made using your normal drawing motion, with the trigger finger beside the holster
body. As your trigger finger naturally comes to rest on the holsters lock release mechanism, simply
push the mechanism as you draw the pistol. The holster also features a cutaway in the front to help
you draw and re-holster easily.
ONCE YOU HAVE FOUND THE PERFECT POSITION FOR YOUR NEW HOLSTER,
IT'S VERY WORTHWHILE SPENDING SOME TIME PRACTISING DRAWING AND
RE-HOLSTERING AS YOU WILL INTRODUCE YOUR MUSCLE MEMORY TO THE
PROCEDURE AND BEFORE YOU KNOW IT THE WHOLE PROCESS WILL BECOME
SECOND NATURE.
